One of the biggest and most well-known lakes close to Ottawa-Gatineau, this huge lake is known for its incredible variety of shoreline. With more than a dozen islands and a vast network of peninsulas and hidden bays, McGregor Lake has been a cottager’s dream for many generations. Over 4km wide east to west and almost 4km north to south, McGregor Lake feels even bigger due to its long, winding shoreline, and is over 135ft deep at its deepest point. While McGregor Lake was once primarily a cottage lake, more and more properties have been converted to 4-season waterfront homes, and given its close proximity to the city – only a 35-minute drive! – it’s easy to understand why.
